While it’s not very likely the game can replicate the success of Fortnite, it very well may surpass expectations due to the aforementioned emphasis on the tactics and communication that the series is known for. In Expedition, teams of three players will be dropped onto an island and instead of having to survive some kind of deadly force enclosing the map like Warzone or Fortnite, teams will need to complete objectives instead.
With a rather over-saturated market of battle royale games, one would sigh at the thought of another beloved series being transformed into something no one asked for. The full reveal of Ghost Recon frontline showed off an exciting new mode called Expedition mode, an interesting new take on the battle royale formula.
After all, this is a big new step for the series and a rather bold one at that. With Ghost Recon Frontline being another battle royale game, it’s understandable why many fans of the series may have been put off since the series is known for its single-player campaign. It was buggy at launch, filled with unnecessary content, uninteresting side missions, and it had a very lifeless world despite how massive the map was. The game was a mess, with the only redeemable quality being Jon Bernthal’s performance as Cole Walker. It makes sense to delay the beta if the game isn’t playable, otherwise it would only hinder the game’s official launch.Īfter the disaster that was Ghost Recon Breakpoint, it’s understandable why fans would be a little hesitant to instill trust in the developer in regards to this franchise. The developers thought it would be best to postpone the closed beta test in wake of what one would speculate to be issues in the game’s development that may make the game unplayable.
